Sunset Beach

Sunset Beach is located on the waterfront at Cala Caterina, the most prestigious residential beach area in Villasimius, on the south coast of the island. Surrounded by the perfumed and characteristic Mediterranean maquis, the sea is a stone’s throw from the villa, and with sea views from most rooms, it almost feels like being in a boat.

There are few villas on the south coast of the island of this size and position. The views are breathtaking, and each bedroom has direct access to the grounds and vistas over the sea. In complete privacy, guests can enjoy relaxation in the gardens and covered terraces, or stroll to the beach nearby, which only has access from the sea and is shared with one neighbouring villa. The land is part of the marine protected natural park of Capo Carbonara.

Sunset Beach is made up of one main building and two apartments.
In the main villa, there is a large sitting room with feature hanging fireplace, opening onto a terrace on the water. This is the reception room, with a dining area, convivial social zone on a raised lounge around the fireplace, and large French windows that open onto the sea view terrace.

There is a master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and two other double bedrooms that share a bathroom, a kitchen and a bedroom and bathroom for staff. All bedrooms except for the staff room have sea views. There is a small laundry area.

Each apartment has a bedroom with a double bed, two single rooms, a bathroom and kitchenette. There are sea views from the living area and direct access to the garden.

The villa has a hot and cold air-conditioning system, a switchboard (intercom) and broadband wi-fi with Ethernet (gigabit) wiring in the main areas. It has a security alarm system, a 40” HD satellite television in the sitting room, and another HD TV in the master bedroom.
Three bedrooms have a fireplace, as well as the sitting room. Outside the kitchen there is also a barbecue.
Inside the grounds, there are six covered car parking spaces and room for a further four vehicles.

Sunset Beach is a peaceful haven and a perfect bolthole to enjoy the whole year round. Less than twenty metres from the villa, three paths lead to the sea, two to sandy beaches below the property and the third to a cove, where magnificent rocks have been sculpted by the wind and waves over millennia.
The villa is a kilometre from Villasimius marina, accommodating yachts up to 20 metres. A path along the coastline means guests can enjoy a walk to the boats without using the road. There is also a golf course nearby, and horse-riding facilities. The coast has a wealth of small bays and inlets, as well as stretches of white sand beaches comparable to the Caribbean, from Villasimius along the southeast coast to Costa Rei.
Salt lakes also characterise the area, with famous inhabitants, pink flamingos, and there’s a beautiful backdrop behind the coast of the Sette Fratelli mountains and forests. It is only an hour’s drive down the coast from the capital city of Sardinia, Cagliari, but it feels like a different world.
